Amun Ini is a secluded paradise hidden away in lush jungle, overlooking a 300m white sand beach and turquoise blue ocean. Located on the south coast of Bohol Island, 55 miles northeast of Tagbilaran City, Amun Ini has an incredible house reef with pristine corals and abundant critters, including mandarin fish, frogfish and ghost pipefish. The resort also has access to over 30 dive sites, ranging from wall diving and beautiful drop-offs with huge schools of fish to macro dives with strange and colourful critters, including pygmy seahorses, thorny seahorses, shrimps, crabs, blue-ring octopus, mimic octopus, wunderpus, endless nudibranchs and much more.

Getting there
Cebu is easily reached with one stop from the UK and takes around 16 hours. The most straightforward routing tends to be via Hong Kong, Singapore or Manila with just short transits in each. Bohol is reached via a 2.5 hour ferry ride from Cebu Pier, followed by a 2 hour drive to the resort.

There are sixteen spacious Deluxe Twin or King Rooms spread over two floors of the attractive thatch-roofed longhouses.

Each room has air conditioning, large ensuite bathroom, minibar, flatscreen TV, sitting area with comfortable sofa, large floor to ceiling picture windows and balcony where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Bohol Sea.

The resorts restaurant overlooks the infinity pool and has beautiful views of the ocean and Camiguin Island in the distance. With the cuisine being rated ‘world class’ by guests, the menus are a combination of family-passed recipes and classic cooking techniques, using locally grown products and ingredients. The bar offers a huge selection of wines, beers and cocktails, which you can enjoy whilst watching the sun setting over the Bohol Sea.

The Spa offers many therapies and treatments, including the ancient Filipino method called “hilot”, which has long been part of the Filipino culture and combines massage with herbal therapy to cure common household illnesses and discomforts.

Amun Ini is also perfectly placed to enjoy nature walks, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling, mountain biking and hiking. The resort also offers various excursions which include visits to Chocolate Hills, the Tarsier monkey reserve and Loboc River cruises.

Diving
Go diving
The large and well-equipped dive centre is located in the resort grounds and offers 2 dives in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon, with the addition of a Mandarin dive at 5pm and night dive at 6pm. The dive sites are anywhere from 2 to 30 minutes away and can be reached by the ten-meter-long speedboat in comfort.  Dive groups are small and personal with a ratio of four divers to one guide.

The dive centre has 5 in-house marine biologists and divemasters who are dedicated local marine conservation and have planted over thirty thousand corals and build 60 small artificial reefs to create a new environment for the local critters, being the most successful in coral restoration throughout the Philippines with 86% success rate.

Down To The Countryside

Doting the landscape are more than a thousand mounds of grass-covered limestone hills – The Chocolate Hills. Come and see this world famous natural heritage that will turn into chocolate-coloured cones during the season. Afterwards, stop by the Tarsier reserve to see these adorable primates with huge eyes and no bigger than a man’s hand. Tarsiers are an endangered species due to their shrinking habitat and is said to number less than a thousand in the wild.

Loboc River Tour

This river cruise is one of the experiences you don’t want to miss. See the homes and lifestyle of the local Boholanos as they go about their normal daily life activities as a tour boat takes you to the further inland of the winding path of Loboc river. Ziplining over the Loboc river is another exciting experience that gives the adventurous guest a thrilling birds-eye view of the famous river.
