Extend your stay
A perfect way to experience the best of the Maldives would be to combine your island stay with a liveaboard or another resort. As all our holidays are completely tailor-made this allows us to put together the perfect itinerary for you to suit your exact requirements.
There is a total of 125 villas on the island in 3 different room types. All rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito net, minibar, hairdryer, bathrobes, tea/coffee making facilities and a satellite flat-screen TV. The 94 Superior Villas and 15 Deluxe Villas are all located on the beach, built in the shade of the palm trees. The 16 spacious Water Villas stand on stilts over the turquoise lagoon.
The Superior Villas are semi-detached and are comfortably furnished with a semi-open bathroom with shower and spacious terrace with seating. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 1 child.
The detached Deluxe Villas are slightly larger, have a semi-open air bathroom with shower and bath tub, spacious terrace with seating and are excellently located for direct beach access. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 1 child.
The Water Villas have a private jacuzzi, a very large terrace with sun loungers and Maldivian swing bed, and direct access the ocean. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults.
There are two restaurants on Filitheyo and two bars. The large main restaurant has a relaxed social atmosphere and offers an award-winning buffet with live cooking stations of local and international dishes. In addition, beach barbeques are regularly organised which offer Maldivian specialty dishes and freshly cooked seafood.
The Sunset Restaurant and Bar is the best place on the island to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. It is located on the tip of the island and offers fresh juices, cocktails, a huge selection of wines and al a carte meals.
The Filitheyo Bar has a tropical beach vibe and sandy floor. Offering a variety of spirits, wine and beer, guests can enjoy their drinks on the beach under the shade of a palm tree whilst listening to the sounds of the ocean.
In addition to diving and snorkelling, there is a wide range of watersports available, including catamaran sailing, paddle boarding, canoeing and windsurfing, as well as excursions to local uninhabited islands, island hopping, dolphin spotting, traditional Maldivian night fishing and sunset cruises. There is also an air-conditioned gymnasium, billiards room, and infinity swimming pool with a decked terrace area and sun loungers over-looking the ocean.
Filitheyo also has an incredible spa which offers an array of blissful treatments for the ultimate in relaxation and pampering.
The dive centre on Filitheyo is run by the excellent Werner Lau, who offer half day and full day boat dives with ‘Red’ boats offering less demanding diving and ‘Blue’ boats diving the channel corners in full current for more experience divers.
There are 3 diving boats/dhoni’s which depart daily at 0900 and 1430, and the knowledgable and experienced crew of 11 international instructors will take divers to explore the 40+ dive sites in the surrounding area of Faafu Atoll. And as the only resort in the atoll it’s highly unlikely you will meet any other divers.
Guests can also dive the house reef at any time during the day. Experienced divers can take advantage of the tank shuttle service and explore the reef in their buddy pairs. The house reef has eight entry/exit points, and features a colourful wall on the north side as well as two purposely scuttled wrecks to explore. Owing to the island’s location between two channels, both manta rays and whale sharks have been seen on the house reef, which is why Filitheyo is known as one of the best resorts in the Maldives for diving.
Werner Lau offer Nitrox diving free of charge.
