Kadavu
Page subtitle hereKadavu Island represents Fiji at it’s most natural and beautiful. There is only one town here and very few roads, so no big resorts or chain restaurants, just eco-friendly tranquillity coupled with natural adventure. Kadavu is the 4th largest island in Fiji and is also home to the 4th largest barrier reef in the world, the Great Astrolabe Reef which is 100km long surrounding most of the island.
There are plenty of hiking routes from the resorts taking you into the lush rainforests where you will see plenty of bird life, stunning waterfalls and isolated sandy beaches.
The diving season here is all year round and you can expect different diving in the North and South of the island. There are lots of soft coral pinnacles and bommies with easy diving to be found in the North and high octane passages that attract sharks, rays and large schools of fish along with colourful hard corals in the South .
You can get to Kadavu by flight (50mins from Nadi) or ferry from Suva with the resorts arranging pick ups to ensure smooth transfers and a relaxed welcome.
