Komandoo Island Resort & Spa

Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives
Komandoo Island Resort & Spa is a beautiful island just 100 meters wide and 500 meters long. Located in the north west of the more remote Lhaviyani Atoll, just 40 minutes by sea plane from Male, Komandoo is surrounded by a beautiful turquoise lagoon, soft white beach and stunning house reef.

In addition to the house reef, Komandoo has access to more than 50 dive sites which are spread across Lhaviyani Atoll and the adjacent Noon Atoll. The diving on Komandoo is run by the excellent Prodivers, who have recently been voted the best dive centre in the Maldives.

As an adults-only resort, the island has a relaxed, intimate desert island feel with a quiet, laid-back atmosphere.

Getting there
Getting to the Maldives is pretty straightforward with many quality carriers stopping once en-route to Male. The most popular airlines tend to be Emirates, Qatar and Etihad who each have a short transit and arrive into your destination at a sensible hour. There are direct flights with British Airways from November to March from Gatwick, but only 3 days per week. The flight time is around 11 hours to Male from London.

Upon arrival in Male we arrange for you to be met by our ground representatives and shown to your seaplane transfer. The journey time is approx 40 minutes. We also liaise with the resort to arrange your seaplane transfer back to Male to tie in with your international flight or onward connection.

Guide price: 7nts from £1850pp*

Diving
Go diving
The diving on Komandoo is run by the professional and experienced Prodivers, who have been based in the Maldives for almost 30 years and their dive centre is located just off the main jetty on the northeast side of the island.

Boat trips are offered twice daily, with boats leaving at 0930 and 1500, as well as full-day dive trips, sunrise and night dives. There are over 50 dive sites within close proximity to Komandoo, including Kuredu Express; the famous Lhaviyani Atoll corner where great numbers of grey reef and silvertip sharks patrol, Kuredu Caves; home to over 60 resident green sea turtles who live in the overhangs, and Fushivaru Thila; where you can encounter sharks, napoleon wrasse, eagle rays and even manta rays, typically during the months of November and December.

The house reef is easily accessible via four entrances, with the dive centre bringing tanks to entry points for unlimited diving, which is offered daily from 0900 to 2100, for experienced divers. The house reef has a huge amount of fish life with turtles, reef sharks, parrot fish, napoleon wrasse, stingrays and eagle rays often being spotted.
