Enjoy your stay
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at the scenic over-water restaurant which has become a local landmark of the Lembeh Strait and provides stunning views of the bay. Breakfast and lunch are served as buffet-style and evening meals are chosen from an extensive a’ la carte menu, including dishes from Indonesia, Thailand, China, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Mexico and America. Food is available 24 hours a day and the restaurant also serves as a sociable and relaxing area to discuss the days diving with fellow diners.

The resort also features an air conditioned bar with an extensive drinks list including delicious and refreshing cocktails, an attractive infinity swimming pool with swim-up bar, where weekend evening barbeques are held and for the ultimate relaxation, you can visit the Tepi Laut Spa which offers a range of rejuvenating treatments and massages.

Diving

Go diving
The standard holiday package to KBR includes 3 boat dives a day and unlimited house reef diving and the dive day starts with breakfast from 0600 with the first dive boat leaving at 0815. There are over 50 dive sites, most within a 15 minute boat ride from the resort jetty, with the majority of sites being muck diving, characterised by dark sand where you can find the ocean’s strangest and smallest critters. If you fancy a change from macro life, there are also fabulous coral reefs, three WWII Shipwrecks and one sunken Taiwanese fishing vessel waiting to be explored.

The resort’s house reef is a truly exclusive dive site which can only be dived by KBR’s in-house guests. No fishing has been allowed in Kungkungan Bay since the resort opened in 1994, allowing for incredible fish life, with cuttlefish, scorpionfish, crabs, superbly coloured nudibranchs, mandarin fish, shrimps, anemone fish and Pygmy Seahorses found amongst the beautiful coral formations.

 Explore

Tangkoko National Park
Tangkoko National Park is home to the world’s smallest nocturnal primate –the Tarsius Spectrum- which is endemic to Sulawesi. This tiny little creature measures around 15cm from head to tail. With a bit of luck, you may also stumble across black tailless macaques, cuscus and the large hornbill bird, amongst other flora and fauna.

This trip is a nice way to end your stay at Dive Into Lembeh, allowing you time to off-gas before flying the next day. The tour starts after lunch, so you can still dive in the morning, and you will be back at the resort around 19:00pm, in time for dinner. We strongly advise people to wear long trousers with socks and trainers, as you will go into the rainforest where there are mosquitoes, ants and other insects.

The guide cost per person for this trip is US $75 and includes a local lunch, bottled water, English speaking guide and air-conditioned transportation. A minimum of two people is required to run the trip.

Minahasa Highland Tour
Full day tour commencing after breakfast at around 08:00AM and you will be back in the resort in time for dinner. We take you to visit a variety of sights around the highlands of North Sulawesi, including:-

  • “Sawangan”, an ancient cemetery with beautifully decorated graves called “Waruga”, that each tell their own story.
  • The small village of Woloan, where you can see the Minahasan traditional houses being built, ready for delivery or shipping.
  • The traditional food and flower market in Tomohon.
  • The high hill of “Rurukan”, with views that stretch as far as the Lembeh Strait in the distance.
  • The beautiful “Lake Tondano”, where the mountain air is cool (600 m above sea level) and where you have a beautiful view of the lake and can see the hot spring.
  • “Lake Linau” –also known as the three coloured lake- because of the volcanic gas around the shores.

The guide cost per person for this trip is US $90 and includes a local lunch, bottled water, English speaking guide and air-conditioned transportation. A minimum of two people is required to run this trip.

Please note that at some of the above mentioned sights, it is greatly appreciated to leave a small donation for the local communities, which are not included in the cost of the tour. Please also note: you are in the Minahasa highlands and they do sell local “delicacies” (think bats, jungle-rats and dogs), so please let your guide know if you do not want to see these and we will avoid this section of the market.
