Getting there
From Port Moresby you take a domestic flight with Air Niugini to Kavieng via either Rabaul or Manus Island, which will take approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. From Kavieng there is then a 20 minute transfer by boat to Lissenung.
Guide price: 7nts / 5 days diving from £1550pp*
Includes: Accommodation in a twin/double Standard Room, full board meal plan, 5 x 2 tank dives by boat with guide, tanks & weights, beverages and snack onboard, FOC shore diving during daytime hours and return airport transfers.
Not included: International and domestic flights, environmental and safety fee of 20PGK per person per day, beverages, excursions, hire equipment, nitrox, courses, purchases and gratuities.

Extend your stay

Accommodation
Get some rest
The resort has a total of 10 rooms, all with ceiling fan, mosquito nets, fly-screens, ample storage, 24-hour electricity and large verandas with comfortable seating and incredible views over the ocean.
The rooms are located in 4 traditional style bungalows, each housing 2 rooms. There are 6 standard rooms with en-suite bathrooms and 2 budget rooms with shared bathroom. Rooms are serviced daily with clean linen, towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided.

All meals are served in the main house on a long table allowing for a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. The Kavieng area is famous for its huge mud crabs, and locally sourced lobster, crayfish, octopus, squid and fresh fish are also offered in abundance with fruit and vegetables which are home-grown or supplied from the local markets.
The island offers many activities including fishing, village tours, kite surfing, snorkelling and mainland tours. New Ireland is also a great location for surfing with swell ranging from 2 – 8ft on the nearby uncrowded breaks.
Diving
Go diving
Lissenung is a dedicated diving resort and the three dive boats are custom made for divers comfort and safety. Each boat is equipped with a dive ladder, canopy for sun protection, equipment boxes and tank racks.
Daily trips of 3 dives per day to the outer reefs, drop-offs and wrecks are offered, starting at 8.30am with 2 morning dives, before returning to the resort for lunch, followed by an afternoon dive from approximately 2.30pm. Sites are within easy reach and are approximately 20-30 minutes by boat.
The dive centre also offers free of charge diving on the resorts house reef with diving packages, the house reef is located just off the beach with at least 175 different species of fish and is an excellent place for night diving.
