The Marco Polo has been exploring the Similans and Andaman Sea for many years and has built up a large repeat following of those looking for excellent diving on a budget. The boat is fairly basic, but well equipped with 7 cabins, a spacious dive deck, a salon and excellent cuisine.

Operated by SeaBees, who have been diving in Thailand since 1989 and have a wealth of knowledge and experience, the Marco Polo is a comfortable liveaboard offering 6 night itineraries from November through to April to some of the best dive sites in the Andaman Sea including the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, the stunning coral gardens of Koh Tachai and the world famous Richelieu Rock.

Getting there
Flight time to Phuket International Airport (HKT) from the UK is approximately 15hrs, via a transit in Bangkok with Thai Airways.

SeaBees offer free transfers from the airport, Kata Beach, Karon Beach and Patong Beach. Marco Polo departs every Tuesday evening from Phuket at approximately 20.00.

Guide price: 6nts / 6 days diving from £975pp*
Includes: Accommodation in a fan cooled cabin, all meals, water, soft drinks, tank/weights, dive guide and Nitrox.

Not included: International flights, hire equipment, National Park Fee of 2700BHT for divers or 1500BHT for non divers.

Accommodation & Facilities

The Marco Polo has 7 cabins. The honeymoon cabin has a king size bed and the 2 double cabins have a double bunk and single overhead. Both these cabin types are air-conditioned. The 4 fan-cooled twin cabins have twin bunks. None of the cabins are en-suite but there 2 shower rooms, 3 separate toilets and 2 additional outdoor showers.

On the large upper deck there is partially covered sundeck with comfortable seating and an indoor lounge area in which all meals are served. Meals are a plentiful mix of both Thai and western cuisine, and, in addition, snacks are also served throughout the day.

The spacious shaded dive deck offers ample space to store and prepare your dive equipment. Access to the dive sites is from the stern with two ladders offering easy access in and out of the water. On each trip there are 22 scheduled dives including night dives. The dive guides will choose the best dive sites depending on the conditions and will ensure there is a mix of coral reefs, rock formations and off-shore dive sites.

Sample Itinerary (cruises run on a fixed schedule from November to end of April and depart Phuket on a Tuesday evening). Highlights include; Koh Tachai Pinnacle, Koh Bon Westridge, Richelieu Rock, Elephant Head, Deep Six and other dive sites of the Similan Islands.

2 early morning dives, departing the Similan Islands about 1100, arriving into Phuket approximately 1800.
