Located in the Visayan Sea on Malapascua Island’s beautiful Bounty Beach, Ocean Vida Beach & Dive Resort is an intimate boutique style resort with  just 20 rooms and a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere.

Malapascua Island is one of the top diving spots in the Philippines offering wall, wreck, cave and macro diving.  Thresher sharks can be seen year round, making Malapascua Island the best place in the world to encounter these beautiful sharks.

Getting there
Cebu is easily reached with one stop from the UK and takes around 16 hours. The most straightforward routing tends to be via Hong Kong, Singapore or Manila with just short transits in each. Getting to Malapascua takes about 3hrs by car, followed by a 30 minute boat ride to your resort.

Accommodation

Get some rest
There are a total of 20 rooms, split into 2 categories; garden view and sea view rooms. All rooms have air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom with hot shower, mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities.

The 8 garden view rooms are located behind the reception area in the quiet and secluded gardens and have a terrace surrounded by palm trees and exotic flowers.

The garden rooms have interconnecting doors which allow them to accommodate families of up to 2 adults and 4 children.

The 12 sea view rooms are situated right on the beach, and have a terrace with comfortable furniture and stunning views of the beach and ocean.

Facilities

Enjoy your stay
The resorts restaurant is located above the dive centre and beach bar, and you have the choice to sit in the restaurant over looking the beach and ocean or dine right on the beach with your toes in the sand. Breakfasts are served as plentiful buffets, with lunch and dinners being a selection of Filipino, Thai and International menus of freshly caught seafood and locally sourced ingredients. There is also a relaxed and sociable bar by the dive centre, which offers Happy Hour daily from 4 – 6pm, making the resorts special Mango Daiquiris very much in demand!

Malapascua is a very small island, about 2.5km long and 1km wide. There are no roads and no cars, making it the perfect place to explore the tiny fishing villages and secluded coves.

Diving

Go diving
Sea Explorers dive centre is located directly on Bounty Beach and offers up to four dives per day from 2 well equipped and comfortable dive boats, with the diving being in small groups of 4 divers to 1 guide. Malapascua has a great diversity of dive sites, the nearest site being no more than 10 minutes boat ride and the furthest being just under 3 hours away.

Most divers head to Malapascua to encounter the thresher sharks, which can be seen throughout the year, and early morning boat trips head to Monad Shoal at 5am to dive with these incredible sharks. In addition, there are beautiful corals gardens, mating mandarin fish, giant oceanic manta rays, seasonal hammerhead sharks, macro diving and the largest wreck in the Visayas along white tipped reef sharks in the underwater tunnel at Gato Island.
