Located 16km south of Dumaguete City in the Municipality of Dauin, Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort was built in 2004 by divers for divers.
The spacious beach-front resort has a relaxed, tropical feel, incredible house reef and is just a 30 minute boat ride from the marine sanctuary of Apo Island, known as one of the best diving destinations in the Philippines.

Cebu is easily reached with one stop from the UK and takes around 16 hours. The most straightforward routing tends to be via Hong Kong, Singapore or Manila with just short transits in each. Dauin is a further transfer of 3.5hrs (mostly by road with a 35 minute ferry hop along the way). Another option for Dauin is to travel into Manila, take a night’s rest there, before joining a domestic flight to Dumaguete the next morning. Flight time is around 50 minutes, followed by a short 30 minute drive to your resort in Dauin.

Get some rest
There are a total of 27 rooms, split into 4 categories; standard garden rooms, deluxe rooms, family rooms and suites. All rooms have air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom with hot shower, cable TV, mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities.
The 10 standard garden rooms are located towards the back of the resort within the coconut grove and have a terrace overlooking the tropical gardens.
The 12 deluxe rooms are situated around the pool area, up to the beach front. The spacious bungalows have a large terrace with beautiful views of the pool or beach.
The 3 large family rooms accommodate 4 guests and have a large terrace with ample seating and views of the lush gardens.
The 2 suites are located above the family rooms and have a sitting area with comfortable sofas, large bathroom with whirlpool bath, a spacious balcony with loungers and stunning views of the pool and ocean.
Enjoy your stay
The resorts restaurant is located above the dive centre and overlooks the beach and ocean. Breakfasts are served as plentiful buffets, with lunch and dinners being a selection of Filipino and International menus served on the beach front under native thatched roof cottages. There is also a relaxed and sociable bar located by the pool which serves a selection of wines, beers, cocktails and spirits, together with tropical drinks, fresh fruit juices and shakes.
Pura Vida offers various tours which can be enjoyed during your stay, these include snorkelling with the whalesharks in Oslob, a visit to the authentic Filipino Malatapay Market and hiking around the beautiful Balanan Lake which sits at 285 meters above sea level.
The resort also has an air-conditioned, well equipped gym, swimming pool and spa offering a range of treatments and beauty therapies.
The large dive centre is located on the beachfront and is run by the professional Sea Explorers, who offer up to four boat dives a day from 8am until 7pm. There are over 20 dive sites accessible from the resort, with world class muck diving, wall dives, day trips to Apo and Sumilon Islands, dusk dives with mandarin fish and night dives.
The Pura Vida house reef is located just in front of the resort and gently slopes down from the beach. It is home to many unique and colourful critters, making it the perfect location for night dives and photography.
