Truk Master

Truk Lagoon & Bikini Atoll

The Truk Master is part of the Master Fleet of steel diving boats that operate in some of the best dive destinations in the world. Completely refurbished in 2016, the Truk Master is 37m long and consists of 8 well appointed cabins taking 16 divers on Truk itineraries and 12 divers on Bikini itineraries.

During the Truk season (October – April) the Truk Master runs 7 and 10 night trips to the main concentration of wrecks located within the bay. This unique area is home to hundreds of wrecks from World War 2 as a result of the aerial bombardment from ‘Operation Hailstone’. Many of the wrecks are in clear visibility and within recreational diving depths, making this the best place in the world for wreck diving.

Guests can enjoy buffet style international cuisine in the indoor air-conditioned dining room, relax in the indoor lounge and bar area or sun bath on the top deck on one of the many sun loungers.

The Truk Master is a very well built boat with plenty of space, facilities and refurbished with divers in mind.

Bikini Atoll

Bikini Atoll is a UNESCO World Heritage site which is located in the remote Marshall Islands, near Micronesia. This area has only been open to diving since 1996 and is one of the most famous places for wreck diving in the world.

The wrecks were created as a result of the US military conducting atomic bomb testing on a mock fleet after WW2. Between 1946 and 1958 there were 67 nuclear bombs dropped during the ‘Operation Crossroads’ campaign. ‘The Nuclear Ghost Fleet’, as these wrecks have been labelled, can be seen in crystal clear waters and are also home to an abundance of fish life, corals and reefs. Wrecks here include; battleships, submarines, destroyers and aircraft carriers.

Itineraries
The Truk Master runs a number of different length itineraries in Bikini Atoll and the Marshall Islands between April and October from 10 to 14 nights. The maximum number of divers onboard is limited to 12, due to the technical nature of the diving and equipment required for safe practice.

Getting there
The easiest way to get to Bikini is via Hawaii (16hrs) from the UK followed by a United Airlines flight to Kwajalein or Majuro (7hrs), depending on your itinerary.

The Marshall Islands has a tropical climate with year round temps between 27 and 29 degrees centigrade and has water temps between 26 and 30 degrees centigrade.
