Socorro Vortex liveaboard

Socorro Islands

The 42m Socorro Vortex is a former Canadian Coast Guard vessel which has been completely redesigned as the ultimate in diving liveaboards providing the highest standards in safety, comfort and luxury, accommodating just 14 guests in 7 spacious en-suite cabins.

The Socorro Vortex offers unforgettable diving experiences from  November and June diving with humpback whales, hammerheads, silky, silvertip and whitetip sharks, dolphins and Pacific manta rays in the Socorro Islands. From August to October the Vortex heads to Guadalupe, one of the best places in the world for thrilling great white shark encounters.

Getting there

Flight time to San Jose del Cabo (SJD) from the UK is approximately 15 hours 30 minutes direct with British Airways, or 16 hours 30 minutes with Aero Mexico via Mexico City. Alternatively you can chose to fly with American Airlines with an overnight stay in Houston on the outbound journey.

We recommend a minimum stay of one night in San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas prior to the liveaboard to allow for any flight changes or delays. On your embarkation day, you will meet the crew from the Socorro Vortex at the Hospitality suite at the The Bahia Hotel & Beach House in Cabo San Lucas, from 1330. The Socorro Vortex departs port no later than 1600.
